Description
This medal is a souvenir of the 1896 exposition named Austtellung fur Elektrotechnik und Kunstgewerbe (tr: Exhibition for Electrical Engineering and Arts and Crafts) in Stuttgart, Germany, that was not officially a world's fair but functioned as such. The obverse features an image of the massive exhibition building with the wordGEWERBEHALLE
(exhibition hall) at the top and the name of the city beneath the image. The reverse has the name of the event
.
This medal was struck very well, with bold three-dimensional design and lettering. It has a toned silver color (somewhat bright), and research indicates that these medals were composed of silvered bronze. This medal
measures approximately 18 mm (11/16") in diameter.
This medal is in very good condition, with light wear plus toning and some soiling.
