ile, the confluence of the Fotrymile and Yukon Rivers
(the town of Fortymile
is the oldest town in Canada’s Yukon Territory). This electric plant facility supplied electricity and heat to the Klondike Gold Rush town of Dawson City. Northern Light, Power and Coal Company was the owner of capital stock of the Dawson Electric Light and Power Company, the Dawson City Water and Power Company, and the Yukon Telephone Syndicate. With the construction of the North Fork Power Plant Project, the Northern Light, Power and Coal Company went bankrupt.
