    Description

National Telephone Mfg. Boston Mass Butter stamp receiver cap or transmitter face plate for 1894 pencil shaft candlestick.  Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.  Possibly circa 1894 very early receiver cap that would have probably fitted on a butter stamp wooden receiver.  Finally got around to researching this cap and an exact match was found on a butter stamp receiver.  Also found on a pencil shaft however, there it was held in place with three screws.  Came from the region where most of the very early items are found.  The cap was glued on to a double pole Chicago receiver.  The threads are good but, still needs cleaning of the hot melt glue residue.  You can still see some of the old glue that needs picking off.  But, threads looks to be in excellent condition.  There is a flaw or chip on the underside of the cap.  Not sure if made that way or damaged.  The cap is very early, rare and desirable.  Probably not used on an long pole receiver.  But, sure would look good as the focal point on your 1894 National Telephone Mfg. pencil shaft candlestick.  I am in deep on this item but, recognized the early name.  So, setting a reasonable price. Thanks for looking.
