    Description

This is a crank tool for a Mitsubishi 4G63/T & 4G64, and  4G Eclipse and 9G Galant 4G69. This is used to hold your crank sprocket while you take off the crankshaft sprocket bolt on a 6 bolt 4G63/T, 4G64, & 4G69. If you have ever done a T-belt job you already know how much of a pain it is to get the crank bolt off and even more of a pain to TIGHTEN and TORQUE to factory spec of 90+ft/lbs. while not turning your crank. This will also work on 4G64; it has been verified to work on 99'-05' 4G64's Eclipse/Galant. Outlander 03'-06'. This also works on Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Sebring 01'-05' 2.4L. Verified works on 06'-11' (4G) Eclipse 4G69 also used in  (9G) 4G69 Galant 06'-12' Check my other auction for the complete T-belt tools changing kit.
For those that haven't done a T-belt job the main reason this is needed is so you can get to the balance shaft belt; and tighten the crank bolt after installing the balance shaft belt. This will hold your crank sprocket in place and keep the engine from turning while you take off or tighten with a torque wrench on the crank bolt. Even vfaq (DSM T-belt bible) warns you of the problem of tightening the crank bolt! DON'T GET IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR T-BELT JOB AND WISH YOU WOULD OF HAD THIS; SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MUCH FRUSTRATION!!
This tool(see pic) will rest against the driveaxle while being attached to the 2 bolt holes in crankshaft sprocket.
The last picture of tool was a prototype (slightly wider) and is shown on a 4G63/T; this was a prototype and is ONLY shown for reference to illustrate the way it needs to be positioned to tighten the crankshaft bolt. The actual tool being sold is shown in the 3 other pics. To loosen tuck end under axle or anything solid. ****TOOL MUST BE POSITIONED/FLIPPED TO THE SIDE THAT WHEN RESTING AGAINST SOLID OBJECT AND WRENCHING ON CRANK SPROCKET BOLT THE FORCE OF THE 2 CRANK BOLTS THAT HOLDS THE TOOL IS APPLYING FORCE TOWARD CENTER/MEAT (INWARD) OF THE TOOL.. DO NOT POSITIONED/FLIPPED THAT IT CREATES OUTWARD FORCE OR THE BOLTS WILL PUSH THRU THE METAL***
    4th pic/last is of a 4G63/T prototype tool to show tightenting position. 2nd pic is a 2.4L 4G64 01'-05' Galant/Eclipse/Stratus/Sebring verified. 3rd pic is crank tool on 06'-11' Eclipse 4G 4G69 also used in 9G 4G69 Galant 06'-12'.
This takes the place of the MB991367 spanner tool that many service manuals list to hold the crank during T-belt procedures.
Made out of 3/16  thick hard rolled steel, which is plenty strong.
This is a awesome addition to any 4G63/T/4G64/4G69 wrench turners garage or a pro! Check out my other auctions for the MD998767 equivalent timing belt tool and the MD998738 equivalent tool; needed for the 4G63/T; 4G64, & 4G69 timing belt job.
