He best friends, Ethel, recommends a book, “How to Keep the Honeymoon from Ending.” Chapter One suggests that a wife be dazzling a sophisticated, but Lucy gets nowhere with the inattentive Ricky. Chapter Two suggests the “Be a Pal System” in which the wife is a buddy and shares her husband’s interest. When Lucy tries her hand at Ricky’s weekly poker game, the antics are not appreciated, and Ricky is more distracted than ever.Chapter three suggests one last ditch effort—become his “mother” and re-create his happy childhood. So the Ricardo’s Manhattan apartment becomes Havana hacienda, complete with a serape-wrapped Ethel and a live donkey! Dressed in a ruffled, south-of-the-border gown, Lucy lip-syncs and dance to the Brazilian classic “Mama Yo Quiero.” How could Ricky help but fall in love all again!
