    Description

    For sale is a vintage/ antique "
    STEWART BROS MODEL E-X
    " side crank telephone/ telegraph/ something testing device.
    Wooden case with leather flap and strap.
    Untested and selling as is- likely is not complete.  Has dirty and rust spots, holes, scuffs, scrapes, dings.
    Leather is stiff in spots, dirty, scuffed.
    About 9" x 9" x 5" and weighs around 11  pounds- lots of the weight has to be the internal/ encased crank mechanism- did not open.
    Metal tag/ label on end includes "
    PAT'D 11-15-15 NO. 1,161,082
    ". There is a very partial piece of label attached to the back- can see "
    INSTRUMENT LABS STEWART BROTHERS
    " and some of a Chicago address.
    Flap held shut by metal clasps- found open and not going to hook shut.
    Crank on side and opens to inside cover storage for the headset and slot (for whatever) on the top.  There is a port/ hole for headset connection, a push button and a viewer/ window spot.  Attached to the screws are cloth covered wires and "
    MUELLER ELEC. CO.
    " clamps.  Unsure what they are for...The headset frame is marked "
    CODE 12
    " and have a single ear piece attached to wire and connector (plugs into case port).
    Also includes a part (see picture) that was found with the case but may be unrelated- is about 2 3/4" long and has a little piece of wire attached.
