    Description

This yearbook is from the Craig Field Training Center in Selma, Alabama - Dated 1942!!!!
The book was owned by then-Major John K. Hester who served as Commander of Group 3 among the flying officers assigned to the school. He later served as a Squadron Commander with the famous 14th Air Force "Flying Tigers" with whom he flew 50 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and Air Medal. After the war, he had a distinguished career, rose to the rank of Major General in the US Air Force, and died tragically in Germany during a parachute jump in 1965.
The example is in good condition with even, expected wear to the cover. The binding is loose but all pages are present and the copy is quite readable. Hester's initials, full name, and the date "1942" can be found in ink on the inside cover.
A great find for aviation nerds who want to see what it was like in the heyday of Army Aviation.
