    Description

This auction is for a beautiful Model 1A Monophone manufactured by Automatic Electric in the early 1930s.
The phone has a Bakelite base with a metal cradle which has been professionally stripped and repainted.  The handset is Bakelite and features newly plated decorative rings at both ends.
There are no cracks or scratches in the base or handset.  The type 24 dial has been professionally calibrated and features  NOS porcelain number plate and chrome fingerwheel,  The center number card is a reproduction. The handset has an original AE black cloth over cloth cord which is in like new condition.  It even has the original Automatic Electric paper tag which can be seen in the picture of the inside wiring.   There is no line (or subset) cord.
There is a new duplicate of the original rubber ring around the base plate to protect furniture.  The original wiring diagram is glued to the inside of the base cover. I have not tested any element for functionality.  The pictures do not do it justice, this is truly a beautiful Bakelite phone from the early 20th century. You don't often find them in this pristine condition.  It will make a great addition to any collection.  Please email me with questions.  Buyer pays USPS Priority Mail cost based on zip code plus handling.  International shipping will be via eBay's Global Shipping Program only.  Payment will be managed by eBay.  Please check out my other auctions for other vintage phones.
