Antique Western Electric Candlestick Telephone 1910's
Up for auction is an antique candlestick telephone from Western Electric.  This phone is in pretty good shape for one hundred plus!  The Bakelite construction has wear consistent with an item of it's age but it has no cracks, chips, or major damage that we could see.  The cord running to the handset appears to be original and as expected it has significant wear (picture ten).  The cord running from the base appears to be plastic coated and has almost certainly been replaced at some point.  The base of the phone has patent information that appears to reference 'Aug 18 04 / Sept 13 04 / Jan 26 15' (picture six) likely dating the phone to some time after 1915.  The earpiece reads 'PROPERTY OF THE AMERICAN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY'.  Due to it's age the phone has not been tested.
