2001 BMW R-Series

I purchased this bike from a consignment from BMW Motorcycles of Pittsburgh in 2019. A guy brought it up from another state to take a job here and needed some extra money so I got a good deal.  I am 6' 1" tall that this bike was crafted for a bit smaller rider than me so I dropped the pegs about 2 inches or so and raised that handlebars also about 2 inches. This necessitated installing one of the cables longer but it all works fine. No dragging. Comfortable position for the taller rider. Adjustable front and rear shocks. You'll note a holder for iPhone and I have the cable to keep it charged. Works well for WAZE and other GPS mapping for trips.
This bike was crafted in the early 2000s to try and compete with Japanese superbikes. So they lightened it. No ABS, no center stand and a few other lightening measures. I definitely don't miss the ABS and the brakes are predictable and stable. I'm told this bike weighs under 400 pounds but it seems very stable on freeways at 80 mph. I installed a Corbin seat and I have the original. The bike has a battery tender with the usual connecter. Speedo shows 33,800 miles. The bike passed inspection in Pennsylvania in December of 2020 I think and the oil/filter was changed at that time. The engine is overpowered and very quick 6 speed. I have the original owner's manual for the bike and several receipts for work done, all at a dealer. I have a small tank bag with a flat tire fix in it and room for more. I also have a back seat bag that's pretty ponderous but I'll throw it in. I keep the bike upright via a front tire trap.  The bike has always been in a heated garage.  The bike starts and runs flawlessly. A little dirty in places now but otherwise no damage.
I'm selling as sadly, old age disorders have caught up with me and I don't believe it's safe for me to ride this bike anymore.
