Residents warned of phone scam spoofing numbers from Hilo courthouse

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Just hang up.
The State Judiciary Office advised this after reports of scammers spoofing phone numbers from the Hilo Courthouse.
These calls are from bad actors appearing to be from a legitimate source.
Court officials say they will not call to demand personal info, immediate payments, or to meet somewhere for a payment.
If you get a call like this, hang up.
And do not respond to similar texts or emails claiming to be from the Judiciary.
